Bienvenidos a la feria de marcas propias de Tiendas 3B del 2020.
Welcome to the 2020 3B Private Label Fair. We produced an 8-minute video telling the story of how 3B convenience stores have evolved. The idea was to showcase the adventures of two key 3B characters: “Gallo Beto”, the official mascot, and “Monster”, the mascot of their toilet paper line. They travel in a time machine to witness the opening of their first store and see how the company has grown into one of the most successful convenience store chains in recent decades.
This video was designed as part of the welcome to the 2020 Brand Fair. We were asked to make it informative but also entertaining. Following the overall sci-fi concept, we decided to have the characters time travel, creating their own story inspired by movies like Back to the Future and Interstellar. In the storyboard, we combined hard facts with narrative and some humorous moments.
Since it was a long-format production with a 3-month deadline, we chose a blend of full and cut-out animation. The narrative style was situational comedy and dialogue-driven, using the time machine to quickly place the characters in context. This allowed us to craft a story that combined business insights with humor, making it feel light and fast-paced.
The character design was inspired by “Chewbacca” for “Monster” and “Captain Kirk” for “Gallo Beto,” with a visual style reminiscent of Saturday-Morning cartoons.
We delivered a high-quality video in a short amount of time, thanks to a staggered production process with three different teams. The storyboard was designed from the start to streamline both production and storytelling. The video’s reception at the 3B 2020 Brand Fair was immersive: we set up four 100-inch screens in a circular auditorium, turning the space into a flying saucer, inspired by the time-traveling ship in the animated story. Guests left energized and ready to enjoy the fair.
